Year 8 Learn the Importance of Languages from former students – 26th Jan 2017
On Thursday 26th January Year 8 students had a different sort of language lesson. They were treated to three very different teachers to their typical MFL lessons. Instead Annabel Brownhill, Beth Allinson and Harry Lamb came into school to talk about their experiences of learning languages at Winchcombe School. The three students who now attend Bourneside and Balcarras sixth forms gave a presentation about how they had developed their passion for language learning.
Year 8 listened attentively and asked some pertinent questions to the past Y11 Winchcombe students who are all currently studying French at AS level. As well as discussing the many advantages of learning a language, the ex-students also gave our students an insight into life post Year 11 as well as some tips for them to succeed in their languages.
